The Shang Shung Institute Austria was founded in January 1st, 2000. It is a non-profit association located in the south-east of Austria between Vienna and Graz.
Since 2002 the Shang Shung Institute Austria has been in charge of finding funds for the “Ka-Ter translation project” and the translation project “Complete Works of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu”. The two translation projects were exclusively financed by donations, mainly by private donations from members of the Dzogchen Community. A very great TASHI DELEGS to all sponsors and donors – without your generosity and the application of the first Paramita, the Paramita of Generosity we would not have been able to publish many books up to now.
Chögyal Namkhai Norbu explains in his book The Precious Vase:
“Offering means to offer material things within one’s possibilities without attachment or greed and without expecting any recompense or a good karmic result, on the basis of the wish to give all that we have for the benefit of others”.
